Bayern LB was established in 1884 by decree of King Ludwig II. The purpose of the law is to facilitate the procurement of capital to be used for agricultural measures. The loans granted by the Agency reach three million marks.The first independent office was established in Nuremberg. In the 70 years of the 20th century, Bayerische Gemeindebank merges with Bayerische Landesbodenkreditanstalt to form Bayerische Landesbank Girozentrale.The bank-to-be receives nominal capital of DEM 400 million.Today, the bank has 30 billion DM assets and boasts 3,500 employees.
