This bank was created as the result of many mergers and takeovers that started in 1824. In the 2009 financial crisis the bank was nationalized. The Dutch government is to start to privatize the bank in 2015. To open international accounts a non resident shall complete a special questionnaire. The decision is taken for every client individually.
