Country information

Bosnia and Herzegovina is a country in Eastern Europe, in the central part of the Balkan Peninsula. It consists of autonomous administrative units: the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Republika Srpska and Brcko District. It borders Croatia to the west and north, Serbia to the east, and Montenegro to the south-east. It has a small outlet to the Adriatic Sea. The state capital is Sarajevo.

Average summer temperatures from +16 to +27 C (the average July temperature
in the capital is +21 C). In winter, from 0 C to -7 C, respectively (in the capital in January is about -1 C, but the temperature can drop to -16 C). Rainfall varies from 400 (the eastern slopes of the mountains) to 1500 (Western) mm per year, mostly in the summer and early winter.
